Dr. Desiree 'Desi' Williams graduated as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2015, after completing her undergraduate and graduate coursework at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. Dr. Desi has always made health and wellness—for both herself and others—a priority in her life. In addition to being a registered Physical Therapist, Dr. Desi also became a certified Yoga Instructor in 2009 and a certified Reiki I practitioner in 2011. Throughout her career as a PT, Dr. Desi has worked in the outpatient setting, home health, and has served as an educator.
Before relocating to Los Angeles in 2017, Dr. Desi worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Hampton University where she taught coursework in Kinesiology, Basic Skills, Neuro Rehab, and Leadership Studies. She also worked as a staff physical therapist in an orthopedic outpatient clinic. After making the ambitious decision to relocate to Los Angeles in 2017, Dr. Desi worked as an Outpatient Physical Therapist for Kaiser Permanente prior to transitioning to the home health setting.
Dr. Desi has since worked for various Home Health Agencies, an opportunity that allows Desi to ensure she is able to provide customized, hands-on, and highly specific treatment interventions to meet her patients' needs. Dr. Desi has found that the one-on-one treatment allows her to gain a deeper understanding of her patients' goals and provide a targeted treatment plan customized to their needs. She has also found that she is often able to restore hope to patients who have previously been told they would not progress. This passion motivated Dr. Desi to start her own full-time home health business.
Dr. Desi considers herself a lifelong learner, and has taken additional coursework to include Yoga and Pilates for the Older Adult, Kinesiology Taping Techniques, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Evidence-Based Fall Prevention Techniques, and Manual Therapy Techniques for Pain Control and Movement Optimization. Dr. Desi also speaks conversational Spanish.
She served as Miss Virginia 2013, competing in the 2014 Miss America Pageant and was Miss Virginia USA 2016, finishing Top 10 in the 2016 Miss USA Competition. She was also a contestant on CBS's SURVIVOR Season 35: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, The Challenge USA: Season 1, and is the reigning winner of The Challenge USA: Season 2.

Her entire life Dr. Karen has been passionate about helping others and she has always strived to work in the medical profession. She spent her career specializing in outpatient and home physical therapy, as well as acute care/hospital work.
During the past few years she has worked for Kaiser Permanente in multiple locations across Los Angeles, where she focused her time treating patients in the outpatient physical therapy department and inpatient/hospital rotations. In addition to working for Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Karen has worked for several home health agencies whereby she offered personalized treatment options for patients in their homes. The experience of providing physical therapy to homebound patients was very rewarding because this enabled Dr. Karen to treat patients who have limited treatment options. As a result of this experience, Dr. Karen decided to start her own full-time home health business. She loves the special connections and improvements she has made with her patients, and she looks forward to making a difference in all of her patients' lives.
In her free time, Dr. Karen enjoys taking professional courses and studying new treatment methods. More specifically, she has taken many Vestibular Rehabilitations courses to treat vertigo and dizziness, chronic pain courses, back and neck pain courses, as well as the Movement Links course which addresses the entire body with a movement-based approach.
Moving across the country from Philadelphia to Los Angeles in 2017 was a big change for Dr. Karen, but not her first big move. Dr. Karen was originally born in Jerusalem, Israel to a Russian immigrant family and later immigrated to the United States in 2002. Having a culturally diverse background makes it easier for Dr. Karen to communicate with her patients. She is fluent in Hebrew, Russian, English, and conversational in Spanish.
